Volkswagen ID.4 Charging Cables

One of the most striking designs to come out of the Volkswagen stable, the ID.4 is a superbly crafted all-electric SUV that utilizes a rear-wheel-drive system. An all-wheel-drive system is however expected to come up soon. It is currently available in 2 trim options, the 1st Edition and Pro. Its exterior features stylish yet clean aerodynamic lines with two-toned colour accents.
The interior design is attractive and practical thanks to its retractable steering wheel, ambient lighting and generous cargo space. Comfortable seating is assured thanks to memory and massage functions. Navigation is supported by voice controls, parking sensors, and a digital display for the driver. Driver assistance options include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-keeping assist. The infotainment system is controlled via a large touchscreen with connectivity to a selection of apps.
The ID.4 comes with a hefty 82 kWh battery pack that offers a range of about 250 miles. While not bad, this range does lag far behind other top options in the same class as the Tesla Model Y. It has an acceleration of 0-60mph in 7.5 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 126 mph.
It can be charged using a wall plug, wall box or public charger. Using an 11 kW AC charge point it takes just over 8 hours for a full charge. For rapid charging using a 125 kW DC public charger, it can achieve 10-80% charge in just 36 minutes.
To charge the ID.4 from a wall plug it will require a 3-pin to Type 2 charging cable and Type 2 to Type 2 charge cable for a charger. A CCS connector is however needed for rapid charging.
